There are moments when the heart begins to search — not for what is lost, but for what has always been present. In this performance, we follow the journey of the soul in search of the Divine. He lives in our breath, in our rhythm, and in the silence between two heartbeats.

Madhurya Rasa is an exploration of devotion through the classical South Indian dance form Bharatanatyam. Rooted in the ancient rasa theory — the emotional essence experienced by the audience — Satishkoemar invites you into a shared space of expression and rhythm. A journey from longing to recognition, until only the Divine remains.

The program starts at 12.00, but you can join later if that suits you better.

This event aims to bring together students, activists, and community members to discuss freedom, explore the history of student activism, find community, and equip individuals with the tools to champion global injustice.

The event is organised by ASVA and CREA and will be partially in Dutch and partially in English.

Koning Berenger de Eerste is stervende. Hij is honderden jaren oud en was ooit de meester over de natuur en de krachten van het universum, maar zijn rijk is in verval. De sneeuw smelt op de polen van de zon, de sterren doven uit en de muren van het paleis brokkelen af. Terwijl zijn eerste vrouw, koningin Marguerite, hem voorbereidt op het onvermijdelijke einde, probeert zijn tweede vrouw, koningin Marie, hem vast te houden in het leven. De Koningin Sterft is een tragikomisch en absurd stuk over de menselijke worsteling met de eindigheid en de onvermijdelijkheid van de dood.

Koning Berenger de Eerste is stervende. Hij is honderden jaren oud en was ooit de meester over de natuur en de krachten van het universum, maar zijn rijk is in verval. De sneeuw smelt op de polen van de zon, de sterren doven uit en de muren van het paleis brokkelen af. Terwijl zijn eerste vrouw, koningin Marguerite, hem voorbereidt op het onvermijdelijke einde, probeert zijn tweede vrouw, koningin Marie, hem vast te houden in het leven. _De Koningin Sterft_ is een tragikomisch en absurd stuk over de menselijke worsteling met de eindigheid en de onvermijdelijkheid van de dood.

King Berenger the First is dying. He is hundreds of years old and was once the master of nature and the forces of the universe, but his empire is in decline. The snow is melting on the poles of the sun, the stars are fading, and the walls of the palace are crumbling. While his first wife, Queen Marguerite, prepares him for the inevitable end, his second wife, Queen Marie, tries to keep him anchored in life. _The Queen Dies_ is a tragicomic and absurd play about the human struggle with mortality and the inevitability of death.

Tender is the Night vertelt het verhaal van rijke Amerikanen die tussen de twee wereldoorlogen neerstrijken aan de Franse Rivièra. De opera verklankt de sociale hogedrukpan waarin zij terechtkomen en de losbandigheid en chaos van de Roaring Twenties. Het is een verhaal vol romantiek en glamour; over een decadent leven vol succes en geld dat door verslaving en mentale problemen langzaam afglijdt naar de desillusie van crisis en depressie. Het feest kwam abrupt ten einde door de beurskrach van 1929, waarna men berooid wakker werd.

Naar de roman van F. Scott Fitzgerald door Kees Arntzen. Deze uitvoering van een aantal fonkelnieuwe scènes markeert zijn afscheid bij CREA: een jazzy zangfestijn met negen solozangers, vier saxofoons en een vocaal octet.

Tender is the Night tells the story of wealthy Americans who settled on the French Riviera between the two World Wars. The opera captures the social pressure cooker they entered, reflecting the debauchery and chaos of the Roaring Twenties. It is a tale of romance and glamour; of a decadent life filled with success and money that, through addiction and mental struggles, slowly slides into the disillusionment of crisis and depression. The party of the Roaring Twenties came to an abrupt end with the stock market crash of 1929, leaving everyone to wake up penniless.

Based on the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald by Kees Arntzen. This performance of several brand-new scenes marks his farewell to CREA: a jazzy vocal feast featuring nine solo singers, four saxophones, and a vocal octet.
